School of Public Affairs (SPA) and Center for Labor Economics & Public Policy Studies (LEPP), Zhejiang University will organize 2013 International Conference on China’s Labor Market in an Era of Economic Transitions & Development following the success of 2010 International Workshop on Employment Dynamics and Social Security at Fudan University, Shanghai. The aim of the conference is to strengthen scientific collaboration and bring together researchers in labor economics around the world. The 2013 International Conference on China’s Labor Market in an Era of Economic Transitions & Development is organized in collaboration with Chinese Economist Society (CES) and Institute for Public Policy (IPP), Zhejiang Province & Zhejiang University.
The previous conference has attracted wide-ranging attention from academic institutions, government organisations and industries in China. The theme of 2013 conference will focus on China’s labor market in an area of economic transitions & development.
The conference will focus more specifically on the following topics: 1) issues of rural migrant workers during the new phase of urbanization; 2) issues of income inequality during the period of economic transitions and development; 3) issues of labor relations in the formation of a harmonious society; 4) issues of employment structural changes in an era of economic transitions and development.

Conference Proceedings
Depending on the number and quality of papers submitted, the organizer intends to publish selected conference papers at China Economic Review, Frontier of Economics in China, and Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies. The selection of papers will follow a double-blind refereeing process.
Note
LEPP will provide free accommodation and meals during the conference for paper presenters. Travel support will be provided to keynote speakers and limited number of participants.

浙江大学公共管理学院和浙江省劳动保障与社会政策研究中心将于2013年举办转型发展中的中国劳动力市场国际研讨会。此次会议是复旦大学于2010年成功举办的就业动态和社会保障国际研讨会的延续和发展。此次会议结合中国劳动力市场发展之实际,吸收西方已有理论和实践之经验,为我国劳动力市场问题的理论与实证研究带来新的、有借鉴的思路,旨在加强劳动经济学界的科研合作和互动。本次会议由中国留美经济学会、浙江省公共政策研究院和浙江大学公共政策研究中心协助举办。
鉴于上次会议获得学界、政府和企业的广泛关注,本次会议主题设为“转型发展中的中国劳动力市场”。具体来看,会议将从四个方面对转型发展中的中国劳动力市场出现的问题加以讨论:1)新型城市化中的农民工问题;2)转型发展中的收入不平等问题;3)和谐社会构建中的劳动和谐问题;4)转型发展中的就业结构转变问题。
